Public Transport
There are a range of options for Public Transport in and out of the City. We encourage the use of public transport as it helps the environment by reducing carbon emissions from additional vehicles on the roadways. Also, parking in the city is expensive & very difficult if you have a camper van.
Train to City via Chatswood (or Epping).
The new train line between Epping & Chatswood is now open and fully operational with trains available to take you directly to the city every 15 to 30 minutes from North Ryde station, 7 days a week. (More frequently during peak times).
Walk to the end of Plassey rd, turn right onto Delhi rd and the station is 300 metres on your left.
The new station is called North Ryde & via Chatswood is the quicker option to get to the city. There are additional stations at Macquarie Park & Macquarie University (the stop for Macquarie Shopping Centre) on the way to Epping.
Travel time from North Ryde to the city is about 28 minutes. As mentioned, traveling to the city via Chatswood is the quicker option.
Cost is $8.00 to Wynyard (or any city circle station) return during peak times & $5.40 off peak. Off peak is after 9am Monday to Friday and any time on weekends & public holidays.

Getting to Homebush Bay/Olympic Park.
One option is to take the new train line to Epping. Change trains to head to the city & get off at Concord West. From Concord West you can walk to the Homebush bay precinct & Olympic Park train station which is about 1.4 kms. Walking map from Concord West train station to Sydney Olympic Park.
Using the train to get to Olympic Park is also possible with changes at Epping, Strathfield & Lidcombe. The journey via the train will take between approximately 50 minutes.
Bus To Chatswood Station - Train To City.For those looking to take a train journey over the Harbour Bridge. The bus stop is a 700 metre walk from reception.
The bus terminates at Chatswood Station where you catch a train that takes you over the Harbour Bridge into the City.
Approximate Travel Time: 10 - 15 minutes on bus, plus 15 - 25 minutes on train.
Approximate Cost: $3.30 bus & train fare.

Bus - Direct To City.
For those looking for a direct City Service that runs 24 hours per day. The bus stop is a 900 metre walk to Epping Road, and buses run very frequently. The bus stop to return to is Pittwater rd & Epping rd. The return walk is longer than the outward journey due to the need to cross over Epping rd by using the pedestrian crossings. It's about 1.2 kms.
Approximate Travel Time: 15 minutes via an express bus, 25 minutes others.

Saving Money on Public Transport.
There are several options visitors can utilize in order save on public transport fares.
DAY TRIPPER TICKET is available that provides a full day of unlimited travel on all standard services of Sydney Buses, Trains, and Ferries.
Cost: $20.00 per adult. $ 10.00 concession.
WEEKLY PASS is available that provides a full week of unlimited travel on all standard services of Sydney Buses, Trains, and Ferries.Cost: $48.00 per adult. $24.00 concession. Worth buying if you are using public transport for three days or more ($20 x 3 = $60.00)
FAMILY DISCOUNTS are available where at least one full-paying adult is traveling with children. One child must pay the full child fare, and all other children will travel free.
FAMILY FUNDAY SUNDAY $2.50 per person for all day travel on CityRail, Sydney Buses, Sydney Ferries and participating private bus companies. Available every Sunday, when a minimum of one adult and one child related by family are travelling together.
PENSIONERS & SENIORS $2.50 per person all day.These offer pensioners and senior citizens affordable and convenient transport at a low cost. They are available for people holding a Pensioner Concession Card or a NSW Seniors Card.Ask us at reception about the best travel option to suit you. Getting to us if you arrive in Sydney via plane, train, boat or bus.
PLANE. If you arrive in Sydney via plane you will be at Kingsford Smith Airport. You can catch a train to Town Hall (in the city), change at Town Hall for North Ryde via Chatswood.
Exit at North Ryde, turn right, and walk down Delhi Road and turn left into Plassey Road. Walk to near the end of Plassey Road and our entrance is on the right. It's about ten to fifteen minutes walk.
TRAIN. If you arrive in Sydney via train you will most likely arrive at Central. Then catch a train to North Ryde.
Exit at North Ryde, turn right, and walk down Delhi Road and turn left into Plassey Road. Walk to near the end of Plassey Road and our entrance is on the right. It's about a ten to fifteen minute walk.
BOAT. You will need to get to one of the city train stations and take a train as per the above instructions.
BUS. Greyhound buses arrive at Sydney International Airport, Sydney Domestic Airport or Central Train Station.
