 Ecotourism Australia's web site.

Here at Lane Cove River Tourist Park we live what we preach.

Imagine an environment where you can stay in a cabin or pitch a tent in a campground within a National Park. Well, that's exactly what we offer and we're only 10 kms from Sydney's world famous Harbour Bridge& the Sydney Opera House.

We are well on our way to being self-sufficient as far as energy usage is concerned & the imminent completion of our large new solar station will compliment our existing solar stations already dotted around the park.

We actively encourage water conservation & have been pro-active concerning water reduction: from multiple water tanks to flow reduction fittings in all amenities blocks to our innovative Nano Particulate Bio Reactor which recycles grey water.

We're already carbon neutral and have a scheme in place where every customer can contribute to offset carbon production.

We actively create natural environments where the once scarce native animals of Lane Cove River Valley thrive. Our population of Brush Turkeys that started with two & now number approximately fifteen are testimony to what anyone can achieve given the passion, incentive & ability to make a difference. A pair of Brush Turkeys wandered into the Tourist Park one day and started building nests all over the park. Within a few months eggs had hatched & we had fifteen of them that are all happy to think of the Tourist Park as their home. Before this, Brush Turkeys had been rare in the area.

Bandicoots are another species that have flourished with the Tourist Park. Along with Ring-Tailed Possums & of course the Brush-Tailed Possums. The brushies are the ones that you might find in your tent if you're not careful. Don't worry, they're not aggressive but it is advisable not to put your fingers in their mouths!

Powerful Owls are are incredible to see.

There are at least one breeding pair of Powerful Owls within the Tourist Park but they can be hard to spot as their territory is quite large. Rainbow Lorikeets, Kookaburras, native Mynas & Rosellas also breed within the Tourist Park.

We have regular night walks where you can gain knowledge about these creatures and see them in their natural habitat.

We can very comfortably say that we live what we preach. You see, Ecotourism, the environment & sustainability is in the blood of everyone who works here. And we love to help our guests experience the natural environment that we offer. We are living proof that tourism can go hand in hand with the environment in a very sustainable way.

Combine the natural surroundings

of a truly environmental experience while being only 10 kms from the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world. The city of Sydney is only a short public transport journey away and again, all the staff here have tremendous knowledge of the city's delights & attractions. From walking on the harbour's edge through bushland that has hardly changed in 120 years to the vibrant life & hustle of The Rocks or George Street to the thrill of a jet boat ride on the world's greatest harbour, we can offer hundreds of suggestions on things to do.

So to experience all that we have to offer here at the Park, & Sydney, make plans to come & stay with us soon.
